General Conditions for car rental in Uruguay
At time of rental, when picking-up a car, AVIS customers may choose to accept or to decline optional coverage or insurance by checking into the corresponding box (accept or reject). Once the contract is signed and coverage/insurance is accepted, it will not be refundable.
Uruguayan Peso (UYU)
At the moment the Rental Agreement is opened, a valid Driver´s License and the driver´s passport must be presented. The License should have been issued at the country of origin. In those cases where an International Driver´s License is presented, it must be presented with the Driver´s License of the country of origin of the driver and the driver´s passport. International Driving Licence together with the Driving License of the country of origin.
An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.
Debit cards are not accepted.
Avis and Avis licensees reserve the right to refuse any request for rental including requests for persons under age, persons not in possession of a recognized full and valid driver's license, persons unable to satisfy credit or cash requirements, or persons who, in the opinion of Avis, constitute a risk.
Insurances and Coverages
• Motor Liability Insurance Basic insurance of Civil Liability and third-party property damage is included in the rates. Ask for the limits of this coverage. The customer is responsible for the first USD 500.00 of public liability and property damage. Theft coverage is included up to value of car. However, theft coverage does no cover stolen accessories, radio, hub caps, etc. • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Coverage, with a deductible, that partially releases the client from financial responsibility in the event of damage, loss or theft of the rental vehicle. Coverage does not cover loss or theft of accessories. With CDW, the renter will be responsible for a deductible starting from USD 1,000.00, depending on the rented car group. The renter will be responsible for the full cost of the damage if the car is driven in violation of the rental agreement, is abused or driven recklessly or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Some rates include this coverage. • Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) Coverage without deductible that releases the client from financial responsibility in the event of damage, loss or theft of the rental vehicle. Not available for car groups F, K, M, N or X. Coverage does not cover loss or theft of accessories. The renter will be responsible for the full cost of the damage if the car is driven in violation of the rental agreement, is abused or driven recklessly or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Some rates include this coverage.
• Additional driver: USD 10.00 plus Tax per driver, per rental. Additional drivers must meet the same minimum age and driver's license requirements as the renter.One Way Rentals
Avis allows renters to return the car in a different Avis location from where it was picked-up, always within Uruguay. An additional fee may apply, depending on the starting and ending Avis locations. Subject to availability at time of booking. For more information: email@example.com
Travel into other countries
