General Conditions for car rental in Israel
At time of rental, when picking-up a car, AVIS customers may choose to accept or to decline optional coverage or insurance by checking into the corresponding box (accept or reject). Once the contract is signed and coverage/insurance is accepted, it will not be refundable.
Israeli New Shekel (ILS)
17%. Tourists who enter Israel with a B2, B3 or B4 visa are exempted. This exception does not apply to citizens of Israel with dual citizenship, or long-term visitors.
Car groups C and D: 23 years. For car groups A, B and K, a daily Young Driver fee will apply to drivers between the ages of 21 and 23, per driver. Please verify the cost at time of booking. Car groups G (Full Size) and H (Premium): 28 years. The rest of the car groups: 25 years.
A valid driving license from the renter's country of residence and passport must be presented in person at the time of rental. This license must have been held for at least two consecutive years prior to the rental pick-up date. A valid International Driving Permit (IDP) must also accompany all driving licenses printed in a non-Roman alphabet. Renters of any vehicle as defined below** require a valid local Category 03 Driving license or the equivalent Commercial/Heavy Duty Driving license from their country of residence. **groups K or M, **any vehicle accomodating eight or more persons **any vehicle weighing 4000 kilos or more All forms of documentation must be issued to the same person, in the same name, and presented together at the time of rental.
An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.
Debit cards are not accepted.
• Additional drivers: USD 4.00 per day, per additional driver. Value subject to change. All additional drivers must meet the same minimum age and driver's license requirements as the renter. All additional drivers must be present at time of pick-up of the rental vehicle.
Insurances and Coverages
• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Mandatory coverage that partially releases the renter of financial responsibility in case of theft, loss or damage to the rental car.Coverage does not cover damage, loss or theft of tires. With CDW, the renter will be responsible for a deductible that varies depending on rented car group. The renter will be responsible for the full cost of the damage if the car is driven in violation of the rental agreement, is abused or driven recklessly or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Mandatory CDW will be charged at double the standard CDW charges and double responsibility in case of damage for renters 21 - 26 years of age. • Theft Protection (TP) Mandatory coverage that partially releases the renter of financial responsibility in the event of theft of the rental car. Coverage does not cover damage, loss or theft of tires. With TP, the renter will be responsible for a deductible that varies depending on the rented car group, in the event of theft of the rental car or its parts. • Super CDW - TP The customer has the possibility of eliminating CDW-TP deductible by purchasing the SUPER CDW-TP at the time of the opening of the contract. Avis allows renters to return the car in a different Avis location from where it was picked-up, always within Israel. An additional fee may apply for domestic one-way. Please verify at time of booking.
Travel into other countries
Avis cars are not permitted outside of Israeli borders.
