General Conditions for car rental in French Guiana
At time of rental, when picking-up a car, AVIS customers may choose to accept or to decline optional coverage or insurance by checking into the corresponding box (accept or reject). Once the contract is signed and coverage/insurance is accepted, it will not be refundable.
At the moment the Rental Agreement is opened, a valid Driver´s License and the driver´s passport must be presented. The License should have been issued at the country of origin. In those cases where an International Driver´s License is presented, it must be presented with the Driver´s License of the country of origin of the driver and the driver´s passport. International Driving Licence together with the Driving License of the country of origin.
Valid driver's license from country of residence is required. International driving license is required only for countries with non-Roman alphabet. International driving license is a translation only.
An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.
Debit cards are not accepted.
• Additional drivers: All additional drivers must meet the same minimum age and driver's license requirements as the renter. All additional drivers must be present at time of pick-up of the rental vehicle. Verify the cost with our Help Desk: firstname.lastname@example.orgImportant
Avis and Avis licensees reserve the right to refuse any request for rental including requests for persons under age, persons not in possession of a recognized full and valid driver's license, persons unable to satisfy credit or cash requirements, or persons who, in the opinion of Avis, constitute a risk.
Insurances and Coverages
• Motor Liability Insurance • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Waiver of responsibility in case of loss or damage to the rental car, with a deductible. With CDW, in the event of theft or damage to the Avis car, the renter will be responsible for a deductible of up to EUR 950.00 depending on rented car group. The renter will be responsible for the full cost of the damage if the car is driven in violation of the rental agreement, is abused or driven recklessly or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Some rates include this coverage. • Theft Protection Coverage (TTP) Coverage with a deductible that partially releases the renter of financial responsibility in the event of theft of the rental car. With TTP, the renter will be responsible for a deductible from EUR 950.00 depending on the rented car group. The client must present the police report and the car keys. Otherwise, the client will be responsible for the full cost of the stolen vehicle. • PAI – Personal Accident Insurance Avis PAI covers medical assistance and expenses in case of illness and/or accident of the renter of the Avis vehicle. Avis allows renters to return the car in a different Avis location from where it was picked-up, always within French Guiana. Travel into other countries
Avis cars rented in French Guiana are not allowed to cross borders into other countries.
